Elk Crock Pot Cheeseburger Mac'n'Cheese
If you know me, you know I LOVE mac'n'cheese. Possibly one of my all time favorite comfort foods. I also love wild game. So when a buddy of mine was nice enough to share some of his elk meat I started looking for recipes and stubbled upon a crock pot cheeseburger mac'n'cheese. I immediately knew I had to try it. The original recipe called for ground burger but I substituted that for ground elk and it was DELICIOUS!
Serves roughly 8 people or 2-4 with yummy left overs.
1½ lbs lean ground wild game (we’re using elk meat) 1 small white onion, chopped 3 cloves of garlic, minced 6 cups of chicken stock 1 cup of grated carrots 1 tsp basil 1½ cups of whole milk 16 ounces of cubed Velveeta processed Cheese 1½ to 2 cups of macaroni noodles
